I was asked about my New Year’s Resolutions in the SF Chronicle. I was really grateful and impressed, being included with Virgin America, the SF Giants, 49′ers was an honor for a small local barbershop. Wow!

Straight Razor Head Shaves
October 6th, 2009Joe’s Barbershop in San Francisco specializes in Straight Razor Head Shaves, as well as AWESOME men’s haircuts. For a short while we had problem finding high quality disposable blades. The manufacturer of the good blades we used was purchased by another manufacturer, and the quality of the blades dropped below our standards.
But we now have a fantastic solution. It is the Feather “No-Sharpen” Straight Razor system from Japan. These are amazing blades that give a fantastic shave.
See you soon for your tight cut or close shave!
Appointments are recommended for head shaves.

BARBERSHOP READING SERIES – 09-05-09
August 31st, 2009BARBERSHOP READING SERIES

In honor of September’s annual Folsom Street Fair, “the granddaddy of all leather festivals,” and something of a High Holiday in San Francisco’s gay community, our theme of the night will be “Chains of Love!” This month’s Barbershop Quartet includes:
KATIE CROUCH whose debut novel, GIRLS IN TRUCKS, about Southern debs gone bad, was a New York Times Bestseller. is winsome.
KEMBLE SCOTT is the author of the bestselling novel SOMA, finalist for the national Lambda Literary Award for debut fiction. His new novel, THE SOWER is a twisted, page-turning thriller about a San Francisco bad boy who becomes the sole carrier of a manmade virus that appears to be the cure for all diseases. But the only way to pass the cure to others is through sex. Our unofficial house musician,
WOLF LARSEN, wowed everyone at our opening event this past June with her beautiful voice. Rumors of a newly released EP have spread, so bring a few extra bucks and you might get a copy.
And finally JANE JUSKA, whose ad in the New York Review of Books—“Before I turn 68, I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like”—brought her undreamed of success. She wrote two books about that search: A ROUND-HEELED WOMAN and UNACCOMPANIED WOMEN.
