Joe’s Named BEST BARBERSHOP by SF Weekly

May 31st, 2013

JoeSFWeeklyFor the second time, SF Weekly has named us San Francisco’s BEST BARBERSHOP! We are thrilled and proud and most importantly, so grateful to our customers for your continued support. We’re honored to get to work with you every day. Here’s what SF Weekly had to say:

Newcomers to town without a barbershop of their own may be hard-pressed to fit in on Fillmore Street or Geneva Avenue, where hangers-out are still fresh meat even after a decade. Beards and bikes are welcome to get cut here, as are fades and shaved heads (straight razor for the latter), bears and cubs, gays and straights, longhairs and so on. Owner Joe Gallagher has been taking a little off the top and sides since 2004. Not even a March 2012 fire could keep the scissors and shavers silent; the Castro District digs now house hair-cutters seven days a week.

We look forward to meeting new customers as well. We are open 7 days a week, and we have both walk-ins and online appointments available.

Best Place to Get Your Hair Done 2013

April 4th, 2013

The readers of The Bay Area Reporter voted Joe’s Barbershop Best Place to Get Your Hair Done 2013

“Just a little off the top” is the slogan at Joe’s Barbershop, a Castro favorite since 2004. Owner Joe Gallagher, started in the business in 2004. The shop moved to its current location in 2009, where eleven barbers now work. A fire in March 2012 closed the business for a time, but it was back up and running two months later. Readers love that Joe’s is now open seven days a week so that they can get a special cut for any occasion. Gallagher said that he and the crew are grateful for the honor. “We had quite a year and are thrilled to have survived the fire, and to be thriving with all our great customers,” he said.
